Kathelen Douyon Visits Lincoln School

Kathelen Douyon, president of Horizon De L'Espoir, from Port-au-Prince, Haiti visited Lincoln school today and talked with students the Haitian Children's Home. She appreciates all the efforts the students at Lincoln have made the last two years to raise funds by selling holiday cards, Haiti pins, and birdhouses. The money raised has been used to purchase a generator, washer and dryer, and a power inveter for the home. Students shared homemade cards, sang a song about Haiti, and enjoyed the stories that Kathleen told about the children. Please enjoy the slideshow from her visit.

Anastasia, a third grade student, said during Kathleen's visit... "It doesn't matter how something looks, it matters that they care about you." That sums up our feelings about this project and the work that Kathleen is doing in Haiti to help the children.

Haiti song performed by the third and fourth graders from Lincoln School in Oak Park, Illinois.
